The Art of The Pivot

​

You already know the signs. Repeated messages find you through various sources. You feel the blessing of your contribution while simultaneously longing to be refilled. Daily patterns are easy and arduous at the same time.

You wake up in the morning with a nagging feeling that there is more. You want More. You crave More.

I KNOW.

The truth of it is, we were created for more. The beautiful flow of life allows a gradual reveal of who we are and what is possible to give us time to adjust to the current experience while wanting a bit more of what is to come. It would be overwhelming any other way, even if we long for the change.

I’ve been through all the parts of this scenario. I’ve been reluctant to move and have slowed my own growth. I’ve been Angela Bassett; tossing the match into the car and walking away without looking back. I’ve carefully plotted out every decision, mapped the sequence, and wrote the script for every conversation…and watched it play out in a way that looked nothing like what I envisioned.

The reality is that change comes to do what it does. Ready or not… you can’t hide.

I’ve come to recognize that before the change comes, that seemingly knocks the wind out of your sails, several nudges and invitations arrive. When we choose to acknowledge those nudges, we give ourselves a gift. It’s like watching an early release of a movie. You get to sit with the plot, characters, and story arc, and digest it before others even know what’s in store for them.

We often have insight before things actually happen. We KNOW before we accept what is true for us. I believe the feeling that we are not ready hinders our desire to allow the information to set in. In truth, we want to turn away from things we don’t know how to do.

It feels so big. It might require more than what I know. I don’t even know what it will look or feel like. These represent some of the thoughts that keep us from embracing change before it is fully revealed. Most often we find that the way we thought things would look didn’t unfold in the way we imagined, which is often for the better!

While there are many insights I have gathered through my own experience with change, I want to highlight one thing that I believe shifts everything.

The art of the pivot!

Rather than a full 360 bringing you right back to the place you began or doing a 180- facing the opposite direction (like Angela Bassett’s scene), you have the opportunity to make transformations happen by making a pivot.

Companies do it all the time. They leverage an adjacency, using all the current infrastructure and marketing it to the same clients. Recording artists cross over from one genre of music to another (think Cowboy Carter). We’ve even seen larger pivots like Michael Jordan shift from basketball to baseball. If the GOAT can pivot so can you!

A pivot allows you to focus on a new direction while creating the pathway forward. It doesn’t require you to go further than your range of motion will allow. Whatever you are ready for is ready for you. You might find peace in crafting a pathway forward to a new career by taking time to plan out skill-building. In other moments, you might be ready to start over in a new city, taking nothing with you while working remotely, doing the same job. A pivot is mobilizing you towards the life you desire at a pace that works for you.

You need a plan for the changes ahead.

If you know that you are called for more, know this: the Divine is not waiting for you to decide to answer. 🙂 The call will come… perhaps followed by a tug and then a push.

You can usurp the discomfort by choosing to acknowledge what you know and feel already about what might be next as a starting point. What is different in a pivot is that you intentionally create the atmosphere of possibilities and language of invitation rather than contracting energy of having to do something. It is embracing choice while putting the paintbrush in your hand. It’s simply different.

Let me tell you how I know.

My path to becoming a Spiritual Advisor, now Spiritual Strategist, has been evolving over the years. It has taken me 40ish years to fully embrace all of the divine gifts that I have. Over time, I became more comfortable speaking freely and allowing what God says to me to flow. My language has changed, I’ve shortened the pause before I say what I know, and I am embracing what it means to be a medium, channel, lightworker, and all of the words I was taught were things that were not in alignment with God.

It was God that directed me to understand the words, and then the hearts of people who carefully crafted the paradigms around my human experience. The attempts to nestle truth underneath fear. It worked. It’s taken years to unravel and many pivots to get to this point. ​

What I love about my journey is that I have had time to settle into what God reveals to me. Pivots have helped me to keep moving while being challenged. They have helped me to gain confidence as I create meaningful and marked shifts in my life. Progress is happening, but at a speed that matches my desire.

Knowing how to pivot is an art. It’s a divine art, really. You step into co-creation mode with God and take an active role in creating the path ahead. That is you, in your divinity, saying yes to your MORE. That is living. It’s freedom. It’s your now.

The Month of Magic and Mystery​

For centuries, across faiths, cultures, and communities, words like “magic” and “mystery” have been misunderstood, misused, and even demonized. I’ve witnessed how, particularly in faith-based spaces, these words have become taboo, labeled as dangerous, forbidden, or “other.” But in this month’s divine guidance episode of The Anika Apple Podcast, I’m inviting us into something deeper. I’m asking you to reconsider what you’ve been taught, to reclaim these words not as symbols of fear or evil, but as invitations into the miraculous and the divine.

This season is a pivotal one. A moment to redefine, to heal what we’ve inherited, and to step boldly into the fullness of who we are and what we’ve been called to do.

Redefining the Language of the Divine

I believe that language is powerful, it shapes our beliefs, and those beliefs shape how we experience the world. That’s why I’m asking: what comes to mind when you hear the word “magic”? For many of us, it immediately conjures something dark, something forbidden. But let’s look at the actual definition. Both “magic” and “miracle” refer to events that can’t be explained by natural or scientific laws. They’re supernatural. They’re divine. So I ask you: what is a miracle, if not magic and mystery?

This isn’t just about semantics, it’s about reclaiming what belongs to God. It’s about refusing to let fear-based doctrine keep us from experiencing the fullness of divine power. When we allow our vocabulary to expand, so does our capacity to see and receive the presence of God in unexpected and beautiful ways. What’s most important is God’s intentions. God is going to surprise us, wow us, hold us in suspense and remind us of Their magnitude!

Unexplainable Blessings

This month, this sacred month of May, is a time of magic and mystery. That’s what I heard in the spirit and what I’m releasing to you now. It’s a season where blessings will arrive suddenly, shockingly, and in ways that make no earthly sense. I saw it like a freight train full of gold and favor, barreling toward us. That’s how quickly and forcefully divine blessings will show up.

But here’s the thing: to receive them, we have to stop expecting life to follow our math. We have to stop assuming that God only works in logical equations. Sometimes, God gives us something that looks like “2 plus 2 plus blank equals 27.” We don’t need to know what’s in the blank, we just need to trust the outcome. When we surrender our obsession with explanation, we create space for the miraculous to unfold.

Embracing Divine Authority

This moment isn’t just about receiving blessings, it’s about healing. Deep, generational, soul-level healing. I believe God is showing us patterns that are ready to be pulled out by the root. Not just surface-level behaviors, but beliefs and habits that have traveled through bloodlines and locked us into cycles we were never meant to carry.

And as we heal, I see new spiritual leaders, new “generals”, rising up. Some of you have felt the call already. You know that God has placed something in your bones, something that doesn’t fit traditional molds or religious hierarchies. You carry irrefutable wisdom. You’re not here to imitate the past, you’re here to lead the future. Even if you feel small or unsure, know this: you are divine royalty. You were prepared and positioned for such a time as this.

Let me say this plainly: the areas in your life where you feel small or unworthy? They’re about to be revealed to call you higher. This isn’t the season to shrink back. It’s the season to rise, to reclaim your fullness, and to walk boldly in the authority that’s already yours. You are not small. Your challenges are not bigger than your purpose. And your circumstances? They are no match for your God.

This is a transformational season. One of miracles. One of magic. One of mystery. I believe that with every fiber of my being. But to experience it, you must be willing to unlearn, to trust, to heal, and to step fully into your divine assignment.

There’s nothing small about you. There never was. You were made for glory. You were made for impact. You were made for this.
